Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday," and English for carnival week. Mardi Gras, either way, is a celebration of everything, from food to costumes and music. It is traditional to dress up during Mardi Gras in green, yellow, and purple. Masks and feathers are trademarks of this celebratory day. So, for today’s craft I will tell you how to make your own Mardi Gras mask from a paper plate.
Supplies
- paper plate
- large rubber band
- scissors
- glue
- feathers
- coloring utensils
Instructions:
Step one: Fold your paper plate in half.
Step two: Cut an oval shape off of the folded side of the plate so that when you unfold it you have two spheres that will cover your eyes.
Step three: While your plate is still folded, cut out a circle from the bigger circle so you can see through your mask.
Step four: Cut your rubber band and tie each end to opposite sides of your mask so that it can be held in place on your face.
Step five: Use glue to place feathers on your mask.
Step six: After the glue has dried color your mask to finish it off.
